100 years of our National anthem

• Our National anthem "JANA GANA MANA" turns 100 years today.,i.e 27th Dec2011.
• It was first written and sung at the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress on 27th Dec1911.
• Thanks to Rabindranath Tagore for scripting a song which describes our India very well and it was sung at the event called "Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress" which was held at the place Madanpalle in AndhraPradesh where it was sung for the first time.
• Please spread the news to every Indian and be proud to be an Indian.

The Fountainhead is a classic, written by Ayn Rand in 1943 and it is by and large a philosophical novel. The book's title is a reference to Rand's statement that "man's ego is the fountainhead of human progress".

The purpose of the book is to exemplify Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism. Ayn Rand classifies herself as a romantic realist. She explains romantic realism as a portrayal of things and people as they ought to be (this implies the romantic approach) placed in real life situations (this implies the realistic approach). It is therefore, that her writing expounds the heroic in man; man as man should be – the ideal, the prime mover, man as an end in himself - and not as a means to a further end.

Animal Farm is an allegorical novella by George Orwell published in England on 17 August 1945. According to Orwell, the book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin era before World WarII. Orwell, a democratic socialistic, was a critic of Joseph Stalin and hostile to Moscow-directed Stalinism, especially after his experiences with the NKVD, and what he saw of the results of the influence of Communist policy ("ceaseless arrests, censored newspapers, prowling hordes of armed police" – "Communism is now a counter-revolutionary force"), during the Spanish Civil War. In a letter to Yvonne Davet, Orwell described Animal Farm as his novel "contre Stalin".

Virendar Sehwag (Captain) of Indian Cricket team created a world record by hitting a double century against West Indies in Indore.He surpasses Sachin's record of 200* against SA by hitting 219 runs in the Holkar stadium.This is the first day-night match in Holkar stadium.Viru also has the highest strikerate of 82.50 by hitting the record 219 runs in just 147 balls.He thrashed 25 fours n 7 sixes in the form of boundaries.Viru's 219 helped India reach 400 for the 4th time in ODI's.India made it to 418-5 in 50 overs.

RIP DevAnand

Dev Anand, the 'Evergreen Romantic Superstar' of Indian cinema, has passed away in London on the night of 3rd December 2011 following a cardiac arrest. He was 88.

Dev Anand, who had come here for medical check up, was not keeping well for the last few days, family sources told PTI. His son Sunil was with him when he breathed last.

He is one of the top 3 heroes in pre Independence era..the other being Raj Kapur and Dilip Kumar.
